Department of Foreigners' Residence, South Moravian Region, Brno

This office of the Ministry of the Interior deals with issues related to the stay of foreigners:

• Applications for extending the stay on a long-term visa,
• Applications for permission for long-term residence or extension of its validity,
• Applications for permission for permanent residence,
• Applications for confirmation of temporary residence on the territory (if you are an EU citizen),
• Applications for permission for the temporary residence of a family member of an EU citizen or extension of a residence card,
• Reporting changes of residence or other changes related to your stay in the Czech Republic,
• Applications for issuance of a residence confirmation.

Other services:

• Social and legal advice and interpretation services provided by the Diocesan Charity of Brno.

Important:

The Ministry of the Interior of the Czech Republic recommends that clients make an appointment before visiting the workplace: clients with appointments are given priority and thus avoid longer waiting times. In extreme cases, walk-in clients may not be served!

Details about the workplace:

• The office is located on the first floor. A large waiting area is available with two queue number machines, an information desk, and toilets.
• Straight ahead and to the left are counters for EU citizens and their families, to the right are counters for third-country citizens and biometrics.
• On the ground floor, there's a smaller waiting area, open daily from 6:00, with vending machines and toilets.
• The office has a beverage and snack machine, a changing table, and a kids' area.
• There's also an information desk.
• Parking is available nearby. First hour is free, afterward, it's paid (except for free spots).
