People in Need, Ústí nad Labem

People in Need operates in every region of Czech Republic and offers various services for Ukrainian refugees, both adults and children, including teenagers.

In the Ústí Region, clients can access social counseling and educational support, assistance with interpretation, processing necessary documents, and obtaining social benefits, as well as basic orientation in the system. If needed, service workers can provide clients with basic food supplies.

Here, clients can use several services:

• Individual counseling – This service supports adult refugees war in dealing with visa issues, labor-law matters, housing, finding doctors, enrolling in schools, and so on. If necessary, the service provides accompaniment to meetings and basic interpretation and translation assistance.
• Support for the education of Ukrainian children in primary schools – This service supports families in coping with school demands (communication with schools, accompanying children to appointments, tutoring, etc.). Tutoring is intended for children who are struggling in school and its main goal is to prevent the child's academic decline. However, it also brings many other positive effects such as increased interest in school, reducing absences and greater activity in class.
• Career counseling for teens – This service is for Ukrainian teenagers. It works with individuals and groups. It covers topics about studying, future job opportunities, money, and free time. It helps find ways to work together and stay motivated.
